High and Low Resolution

The left column contains high-res TIFF files (approximately 300 dpi at 8x10), which are perfect for making sharp 8x10 prints, posters, or for use when magazines or newspapers request large images. These are huge files, generally too large to be directly emailed.

The right column contains low-res JPEG files (approximately 100 dpi at 8x10), an ideal size for putting on the web or emailing. If a newspaper or magazine requests a small or thumbnail size image, these can be used for print as well.

COLOR VERSUS BLACK AND WHITE: If you need a black and white version of any image, please download the photo here rather than sending out color and having someone else convert it. A direct, unretouched conversion from color to black and white will often result in dark, muddy images with low contrast.
